MICHAEL D. GROVER
Michael D. Grover has been publishing poetry since the late 1990’s, when you used to send submissions by snail mail. In the early 2000’s he ran Covert Press and published chapbooks by many of the giants of underground poetry. Over the years Michael has been published in countless publications all over the world, and published over fifteen books of poetry. Michael spent over ten years as head Poetry Editor of the literary zine Red Fez. Michael has published two novels. Michael currently lives in Florida, dealing with cancer, with his dog where he meditates every day, and works on http://www.thepoetryunderground.com. His newest collection of Poems “Fort Meade” is available on Gutter Snob Books.

If you would like to share a poem, please see the facilitator at 2:30 PM to get your name on the list on the day of the event. There is space on the list for ten poets at five minutes each. At 3:30 PM, the readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the sign-up sheet.

Share your polished poems or bust out fresh ink from your notebook during St. Augustine’s longest-running open mic poetry event. Invite a friend or two or three. Ancient City Poets has always been open to the public and there is no charge at the door to get your name on the list.

This gathering will be the fourth in an eight-part series of monthly events celebrating creative writing and reciting presented by Ancient City Poets, the St. Augustine PoetFest, and the St. Johns Cultural Council. This series is coordinated by Chris Bodor, in recognition of his role as the Beat Poet Laureate for the State of Florida. HELP SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE ANCIENT CITY POETS
Ancient City Poets is the local chapter of the Florida State Poets Association (FSPA). These gatherings qualify as the monthly chapter meeting. The monthly readings are open to all. You do not have to be a member to share at the podium.
